An exciting quartet showcasing some of London’s finest young players, led by rising young alto player, Camilla George. The CGQ has a modern edge whilst paying homage to the jazz tradition. Debut EP Lunacity just released.
ARQ is a closely-attuned and creative ensemble led by Alison Rayner, a bass-player and composer for almost 40 years. She won the Jazz Services Recording Subsidy Award for 2013 and the first ARQ album ‘August’ is released in October 2014. Alison’s original compositions draw on a love for lyrical melodies, deep grooves and influences from folk, funk and Latin.
“August could hardly represent a sharper reminder to the British jazz world of the breadth and depth of
Alison Rayner’s often unsung talents.” JOHN FORDHAM
“With her big warm acoustic sound, faultless time, tuning and taste and creative solo ability, she clearly belongs in the front rank of contemporary bassists.” DIGBY FAIRWEATHER
