The Word is Your Oyster TWIYO 

This month is a real treat of vocal and lyrical depth and incredible guitar playing.

We’re joined by the Romantic and Radical Irish born vocalist and songwriter Christine Tobin. Described by The Guardian as “Gorgeous, affecting and deeply human”, she won the British Composer Award for her settings of poems by W.B. Yeats and Jazz Vocalist of the Year’ at the 2014 Parliamentary Jazz Awards. Christine will be performing with the Jazz Guitar Guru Phil Robson.

We can’t wait to introduce you to the fabulous Kimwei.
She is one woman, one guitar and a whole new world of sound!
Kimwei will delight us with her distinctive talent, sweeping vocal lines and inventive and unique ways of playing her guitar.

Ruby Thompson will have a song and a story to share with us. Our resident band LUND will be back from their West Cornwall mini tour, they will be joined by TWIYO team regulars the wonderful and transcendent Jennifer Maidman (guitar/bass) and Annie Whitehead (trombone).

There will of course be our collective collaboration that is The Word Of The Night Finale improvisation. What will the word be this month?  Mystery.
